We honour and respect the Tasmania's Aboriginal people (the palawa/pakana) as the traditional and continuing custodians of the land. It recognises their unbroken connection to Country for tens of thousands of years, their role in caring for the land, and the principle that Aboriginal sovereignty was never ceded.
